Pensacola’s Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Pickens Day Trip

31 Jul

One day of our vacation we ventured over to Pensacola to visit the National Naval Aviation Museum with the cousins. They have a wide array of planes and helicopters, an IMAX and simulators and the museum if free!

I really liked one exhibit about World War II that featured the inside of a home and stores from the era. I’m kind a sucker for that kind of stuff. You could also take pictures inside the Blue Angel’s cockpits, pretty fun, not gonna lie. Here’s dad enjoying the vintage planes.

After the museum, Sean, Dad, Aunt Jan and I had lunch and ventured down to Fort Pickens. The fort was originally built in 1834 and is pretty fun to wander around in.

I would love to do a photo shoot in a fort like this some time. The texture of the bricks and walls are lovely and the arches and windows create some fun lighting.

Old graffiti too.

From Fort Pickens you can see across the bay to were we where earlier in the day at the Naval Aviation Museum.

It was definitely a fun day trip if you’re ever in the area.

I volunteer Andrew & me for fort pictures. 🙂 We did a great set with our friend Glas at Fort Morgan the first year we joined y’all at the beach (pre-Corwin) — it was a lot of fun!
