Oklahoma! Part 2

2 Oct

During our Oklahoma trip we had a fun time touring Oklahoma City and other small towns close by. We visited Coffee Slingers in the historic Automobile Alley part of the city.

There were a lot of older brick buildings in this part of town. I loved the textures this building has developed of the years.

We also spent some time at the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial.

The memorial was a beautiful and moving space.

We also spent an afternoon in Guthrie, the old State capital. We went to a few antique shops and a cool art gallery full of art from local artists. The city still has many of it’s turn of the century brick buildings with pretty Victorian details.

One evening we also made it over to Pop’s soda shop on the old Route 66. The building is pretty fun and they have almost every kind of soda you could want. There’s also a soda bottle sculpture out front that is fun to take pictures with.

Hopefully next time we go back it will be a little cooler.

We enjoy the pop/soda place. Did you go by the round barn down the road?

Hmm it seems like your site ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it
up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying
your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any helpful hints for beginner blog writers?
    I’d really appreciate it.
