Saturdays

March 24, 2007

Usually when I’m in Fort Worth on Saturday morning, which hasn’t been very often lately, I go for a walk or jog. Whatever you want to call it. The last two Saturday’s I have done this I have stumbled upon estate sales and have found some very good, and, well interesting finds. Estate sales are weird and wonderful things. It is intersting to walk through someone elses house and see all of their funriture, clothes, nicknacks and the whatnot. However, it’s also a bit sad to know that you are being able to see all of their things because they most likely have died. I always feel a little guilty that I take so much joy in looking through their things, which have now become chic vintage finds in my eye. Well, here are some of my recent finds.
Today I bought this awesome 120mm camera with case, a set of glasses and glass bowls. My other purchase from a few weeks ago is not so practical, but it’s a fun conversational piece for our living room.

Spring Break

March 17, 2007

Well spring break is almost over, but it’s been a very nice week with a little bit of adventure and a bit of rest. Last weekend Katherine and I ventured out to Booker, Texas for our friend Stephanie’s wedding. If you know where Booker is without using a map, I am very impressed. The rest of the week I have been in Houston, visiting my new nephew and working on homework. I only have six weeks left of school! Now all I have to do is find a job. I’m not really worried about finding one, just one that I want to do.

Student Teaching

March 7, 2007

Well, I’ve been at my second student teaching placement for a week and a half now, and it’s getting much better. Last week I think I was still in slight denial of being back from London that I wasn’t really prepared for the Fort Worth school system. Today was my first day teaching. I’m in a fourth grade reading/writing class and this week we are reviewing inferencing and generalizations. Oh what fun. I am excited about the end of the week though, we are doing an activity were the students make inferences about classical peices of art. Spring breaks in a week, I won’t pretend I’m not looking forward to it.
